West Virginia's topography results in an abundance of high gradient streams.  These
streams provide excellent habitat for many species of benthic macroinvertebrates.
Benthic macroinvertebrates are used as biological indicators of water quality by many
government agencies.  These agencies use a Stream Condition Index which is a
multimetric aggregate of stream conditions based on family level taxonomy that can be
calculated to help determine the quality of a stream.  Our benthic macroinvertebrate
studies follow the E.P.A.'s Rapid Bioassessment Protocols.

We offer the following services:

Macroinvertebrate Sampling

Laboratory Subsampling

Identification

Stream Condition Index Calculations

Long-term Mitigation Monitoring
Tricoptera
Sampling with rectangular dip net
